Watch out

Hidden costs

  • Order volume caps

Lite tier caps at 10k orders/mo, Pro at 50k. Exceed these and you're either bumped to the next tier or charged overage. For brands approaching the cap, plan for tier upgrades 60 days before crossing.

  • Multi-store pricing

Lite and Pro tiers are single-store only. Multi-store brands need Plus tier ($249/mo) or separate Pro subscriptions per store. For 2-3 stores the math typically favors separate Pro accounts; 4+ stores favors Plus.

  • Event taxonomy setup

Out-of-box tracking covers standard Shopify events (page view, add to cart, purchase). Custom events (engagement scoring, multi-step funnel events) require setup work - either DIY or via Elevar's onboarding team at $500-2,000 depending on complexity.

  • Annual prepay isn't always cheaper

Annual saves ~15% nominally but locks you in for 12 months. For brands that might churn or upgrade tiers within a year, monthly billing at slightly higher rates often nets better.

What Elevar actually does for the price

Elevar is the Shopify-native server-side tracking layer. It installs as a Shopify app and immediately starts firing server-side conversion events to GA4, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and other ad platforms - bypassing the browser-based tracking that iOS 14+ broke. The setup is genuinely 5-10 minutes for the basic configuration.

The value proposition is signal recovery at minimum cost. Where attribution platforms like Hyros ($199+/mo) and Triple Whale ($129+/mo) bundle server-side tracking with much larger feature surfaces, Elevar gives you the tracking layer alone at $29-79/mo. For Shopify brands where attribution dashboards aren't the bottleneck but signal quality is, Elevar is materially cheaper.

The trade-off: Elevar provides the server-side tracking infrastructure but not the analytics or attribution dashboards. You'll still report performance through Meta Ads Manager, GA4, and Shopify itself. If you want the unified dashboard experience, you'll need Triple Whale or similar on top of Elevar (or instead of it).

Elevar vs alternatives at the same job

vs Stape + GTM Server-Side (DIY) ($50-150/mo): The build-it-yourself path is cheaper but requires technical expertise to maintain. Elevar at $29-79/mo charges for the Shopify-native integration and operational maintenance.

vs Triple Whale ($129-349/mo): Triple Whale bundles server-side tracking with attribution dashboards and analytics. If you want both layers, Triple Whale is the better deal. If you only want the tracking layer, Elevar is 60-75% cheaper.

vs Hyros ($199-499/mo): Hyros is purpose-built for info-product / coaching; Elevar for Shopify DTC. Different use cases; don't directly compare.

vs Littledata, Analyzify, and other Shopify-native trackers: Comparable feature sets, mostly differentiated by UX, support quality, and pricing. Elevar has the strongest brand and largest customer base in this category; alternatives are credible at slightly different price points.

When Elevar is the right call

Three personas. First: Shopify brands that don't need attribution dashboards. Your team reports performance through Meta Ads Manager directly and just wants the conversion signal to be clean. Elevar provides exactly that at minimum cost.

Second: brands paying for Triple Whale or similar but feeling the price. If you're spending $349/mo on Triple Whale but only using the server-side tracking layer, downgrade to Elevar at $79/mo and save $3,000+/yr.

Third: brands building toward custom data infrastructure. Elevar handles the immediate tracking layer cleanly while you build your own warehouse + dashboards. The migration path is straightforward when you're ready.

Where Elevar fails: brands wanting unified attribution dashboards out of the box. The tracking layer is great; the analysis layer is missing. Don't expect Elevar to be Triple Whale-shaped.

Internal: elevar-shopify, what-is-elevar, triplewhale-alternative.

FAQ

Frequently asked

How much does Elevar cost?
Lite: $29/mo. Pro: $79/mo. Plus: $249/mo. Enterprise: custom. Annual billing saves ~15%. Lite covers 10k Shopify orders/mo; Pro covers 50k; Plus is unlimited.
Is Elevar worth the price?
For Shopify brands that want clean server-side tracking without paying for full attribution platforms: yes - it's the cheapest serious option at $29-79/mo. For brands that want unified attribution dashboards: pair Elevar with Triple Whale, or use Triple Whale standalone.
Is Elevar better than Triple Whale?
Different products. Elevar does server-side tracking only. Triple Whale does tracking PLUS attribution dashboards PLUS analytics. Elevar is cheaper but narrower; Triple Whale is broader but pricier. Pick by what you need.
Does Elevar work for non-Shopify stores?
Elevar is Shopify-focused. They have some support for other ecommerce platforms but the depth and reliability are weaker. For non-Shopify, look at Stape + GTM Server-Side or platform-specific alternatives.
Can I cancel Elevar anytime?
Monthly tiers cancel anytime, billing stops next cycle. Annual contracts at Plus and Enterprise tiers are harder to exit mid-term. Read terms before committing annually if churn is possible.
What's the difference between Elevar Lite and Pro?
Lite covers GA4 + Meta server-side. Pro adds TikTok, Pinterest, Snap, and Klaviyo integrations. Pro also lifts the order cap from 10k to 50k. If you advertise on more than just Meta, Pro is the right tier.
