Refund Policy

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can request a refund for purchases made on Shuttergen. It supplements (and forms part of) our Terms of Service. Payments are processed by our payments provider, Dodo Payments.

Subscriptions

Subscription plans (Inspire, Intelligence, Studio, and Launch) bill in advance for each billing period. Once a billing period has begun, charges for that period are non-refundable, except where required by applicable consumer-protection law. You may cancel at any time from your billing settings or the Dodo Payments billing portal - cancellation stops future renewals, and access continues until the end of the current period.

  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. We do not issue refunds for renewals that were not cancelled in advance.
  • Service failures. If the Services are materially impaired for an extended period due to a fault on our side, contact us and we will, at our discretion, issue a pro-rata refund or credit for the affected period.
  • Plan changes. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not refund the difference between tiers when you downgrade mid-period.

Credits and Generation Output

Credits are a metered unit of usage that consume real costs at our AI providers when spent.

  • Credits are non-refundable. Once granted, credits have no cash value and are not refundable or transferable.
  • Successful generations. A generation that completes successfully is not eligible for a refund, even if the result does not meet your expectations. AI-generated output is inherently probabilistic.
  • Failed generations. When a generation terminally fails on the provider side, the credits used are automatically refunded to your team's balance. You do not need to contact support for this.
  • Top-ups and bundles. One-off credit top-ups and bundles are non-refundable once delivered to your account.

How to Request a Refund

If you believe you are entitled to a refund under this policy or under applicable law, email support@shuttergen.com from the email address on your account with:

  • The team or account name on the subscription;
  • The approximate date and amount of the charge;
  • A brief explanation of the issue.

We aim to respond within 5 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method via Dodo Payments and typically arrive within 5–10 business days depending on your card issuer.

Chargebacks

If you have an issue with a charge, please contact us first so we can resolve it directly. Initiating a chargeback before contacting support may result in immediate suspension of your account pending investigation.

Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your jurisdiction (including, where applicable, statutory withdrawal or "cooling-off" rights).

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or by email.
